Why join NRPC? We are a specialist register exclusively for those therapists who work within the fields of psychotherapy and counselling. The title of the register itself will aid its positioning in internet search engines and with the reputation of our parent company, APHP, it will be easy for vistors to find you. Our search facility on the site is such that a visitor can type in any part of your details, including specialities, and your entry will be visible.

A successful membership application is a straightforward process:

  • If you are currently registered with CNHC, BACP, or UKCP, you can Download and complete the Short application form.
  • If not registered with any of those bodies, Download a full application form and send the completed form to us at the address in the panel on the right of this screen.
  • We will review your request and contact you with our decision. If your application is accepted, payment can then be made securely by credit card online, via BACS or by sending a cheque through the post.
  • Membership fees, including concessionary rates are advised in the Membership Requirements document which you can download from the link above.
  • Once payment is received, we will send you a link to your personal section of our online database where you can enter any details that you have told us about in your application as well as a password to give you access to the protected part of the site.
  • It is not mandatory to appear on the database but it is free and allows you to update your own details at any time you need to. Making your payment signifies your agreement to abide by the NRCP code of ethics, which you can download here We will activate your entry within 48 hours, usually much earlier than that. 

Under some circumstances, we may request additional information such as copies of your relevant certification and may also request three case studies as an illustration of your capabilities and competence. Such information will be given our fullest consideration at the earliest possible opportunity. If you completed your training via a recognised school of psychotherapy/counselling, case studies are usually not considered necessary.

Members Benefits

Members benefits include discounts on some professional training materials, concessionary fees for some classroom-based trainings, plus the opportunity for free admission (availability permitting) to one completely new CPD seminar each year, conducted personally by Terence Watts. The details of the latter will be circulated to all members in good time.
